Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico in 1934, Roberto Clemente achieved 3,000 career hits and won twelve Gold Glove Awards as MLB's finest right fielder. He fought discrimination against Latin American players throughout his career. In 1972, he died at thirty-eight in a plane crash while personally delivering earthquake relief supplies to Nicaragua.
